Show By Mrs. Merle Ross Irrigation Co. Has Annual Meet Monday the Uteland Irrigation Co. held its annual meeting at the home of Clarence Horrocks. All officers and board members were re-elected and are as follows: Hale' Holgate, president; Thomas' M. Gilbert, vice-president; and Clarence Clar-ence Horrocks-, secretary, with F. A. Myrin and LeGrande Gilbert, Gil-bert, board members. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Poul'son of Duchesne', visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milt Larsen. Lavon Horrocks, of Rangely, Colo., spent the weekend visiting friends and' relatives. GENEALOGY COMMITTEE PRESENTS PROGRAM The Genealogical committee sponsored the program given in Sacrament meeting Sunday night. Those on the program were Geneva Gen-eva Gilbert, Scott Lusty, Nancy Tanner, Ida Horrocks, Bishop Gam Gilbert and Beverly Olsen. Enjoying the evening's entertainment entertain-ment were Bishop and Mrs. Carl Van Tassell, Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Lisonbee, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marchant and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meyer from Bridgeland, along with a grood crowd from our own ward. The committee' has been untiring in their efforts to get members in the ward genealogy gen-ealogy minded. Mrs, John Gilbert and family returned from Salt Lake Wednesday. Wednes-day. She left her husband in Salt Lake, where he entered the LDS Hospital for observation. To date nothing definite has been decided concerning his condition. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Linn and family were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tanner and family Wednesday. The Linns were enroute' to their home in Jackson Hole, Wyo., after af-ter spending the holidays in California. Cali-fornia. The Tanners formerly lived in Jackson Hole, Needless to say the day was an enjoyable one. Bishop and Mrs. Ralph Shields and family were dinner guests at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Shields'. TAKES DUCHESNE POST Roosevelt's loss was Duchesne's gain when Mrs. Shirley Marti, R.N., left the Roosevelt Hospital to be head' nurse at the new Health Center that is opening in Duchesne. Mrs. Marti has made many friends since coming to the Basin, and we sincerely wish her much success and happiness in her new work. Rosita and Eva Myore accompanied accom-panied Mr, and Mrs. Amos Prank to Fort Washakie, Wyo. for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Jensen and Mr. and Mrs. Kent Jensen were weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tanner. Mrs. Tanner left with them Sunday and will go to Salt Lake where she will have a medical check-up, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holgate of Myton, spent Sunday evening visiting vis-iting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milt Larsen. Max Mullins and Mr. Monks of Salt Lake City, visited at the Thomas M. Gilbert home Friday. Mr. and Mrs. R. S, Lusty made a business trip to Salt Lake' on Tuesday. ' " Mr. and Mrs. Francis Ross and family of Myton visited' recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Ross. 36th WEDDING President and Mrs. Hale Holgate Hol-gate entertained with a turkey dinner to celebrate their thirty-sixth thirty-sixth wedding anniversary Monday. Mon-day. Helping them celebrate the festive occasion were Mr, and Mrs. Elmer Moon and family of Duchesne and Mr. and Mrs. Chad Evans and family. Congratulations go to this happy couple. R. G. Ross left Sunday for Salt Lake, where he has employment. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shields spent Wednesday in Salt Lake on business. bus-iness. Attending convention in Duchesne' Du-chesne' Sunday were Bishop Gam Gilbert, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Gilbert, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gilbert, Stanley Ross, Irvin Johson, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Shields, Mr. and Mrs. Chad Evans, Lois Terpening, Gladys Capson, Ida and Marva Mae Horrocks, Vera Larsen and Geneva Gilbert. Enjoying a quilting at the' home of Vera Larsen Wednesday, were Bessie Lusty, Ora Holgate, Margaret Mar-garet Ross, Gladys Capson and Geneva Gilbert. They made a beautiful beau-tiful friendship quilt for Mrs, Milton Mil-ton Poulson of Duchesne. Visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Merle Ross, and family Sunday was Mrs. Cynthia Massey of Vernal. Ver-nal. She was accompanied by Earl Massey arid Perry Whiting of Or-em, Or-em, Utah. Mrs, Merle Ross received word from the C. Floyd Ross family that they had arrived in Parker, Arizona and were fast getting acquainted. They wish to inform all' their Basin friends that the welcome mat will be out to any that should ever be down their way. Hugh Evans left Tuesday for Provo, where he will register for winter quarter at the BYU. PLAN LUCKY CLOVER DANCE The Arcadia ward MIA will host the stake MIA Lucky Clover dance this month. The date has been set for Jan. 17. A short Mutual will be held in the stake house for all Mutuals of the stake with the dance' following. A good deal of time and effort are being put forth for this occasion. A hearty welcome is being extended to everyone to attend. |
