Show New ECitvanis. Officers Seated On January Sfh Past Governor Off icates; Members Return Orson Stevens, co-operator and manager of the Stevens' Sand and Gravel Co., last Thursday evening was installed as president of the Roosevelt Kiwanis Club at an impressive im-pressive ladies' night program held at the Frontier Grill. Immediate Im-mediate Past Governor LeRoy J. Olsen of Provo was the installing officer. Retiring president is' John Wogec. Other officers who will, assist President Stevens in directing the affairs of the club during 1956, include Lynn Dye, vice-president; Donald A. Truman, secretary-treasurer secretary-treasurer and the following directors: direc-tors: (two years) Floyd Peterson, Cliff Memmott; (one year), Orvil Rudy, Ervil Asay, Jack Zimmerman, Zimmer-man, Ted Harmston and Lawrence Pack. The retiring president also serves as a director for one year. Perfect Attenders Retiring Vice-President Donald Truman presented six members with perfect attendance tabs in recognition of successive attendance atten-dance from 2 to 21 years. Several former members and one new member were' officially inducted into Kiwanis by Mr. 01-sen. 01-sen. They were Presley Timothy, Owen Burgener, Parley Rawlings and Arvin Bellon, former members;. mem-bers;. Bill Pitcher, operator of the Roosevelt Hotel, was the new member to receive his "K" pin. Two other new members, Wood-row Wood-row Nielson and Theron Leavitt, were also introduced along with their wives' as having joined the club about a month ago. Governor Marrs Speaks The newly installed governor of the Utah-Idaho district, H. Wayne Marrs of Vernal, was also a guest of the club and delivered the main address of the evening. Mr, Timothy presided as toast-master toast-master and carnation corsages were presented to the ladies. OtheT visitors were Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Roberts, immediate past president at Vernal; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Colobella, Vernal; Ernest Er-nest Rasmussen, retiring president, and Stan Heal, newly installed president and J. T. Cannon, director, di-rector, all of the Provo club. Also introduced as visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Moody who sang two vocal duets, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Andrus, and Mr. and Mrs. Axel Anderson. |
