Show Fort Duchesne By Norma Denver Phone 62244 Ute Basketball Tourney A Success The basketball tournment held at Randlett and sponsored by the Ute recreation was a huge success. suc-cess. Rangely, Colo, won first place in the Senior Division, with 2nd place' honors going to the Ft. Duchesne Huskies, and Myton 3rd place. The Devils of Ft. Du-chense Du-chense won the girls'" trophy and Roosevelt's Palefaces received 2nd place. In the' Junior Division, the boys of Roosevelt won first place and the Ft, Duchesne boys 2nd, and Vernal boys 3rd place. We are very proud of our building build-ing at Randlett and invite the public to come out and see it. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Denver, Gary Murd'ock, Milton Denver, Jimmy Sutteer and Marion Gardner Gard-ner returned to Denver last weekend week-end to resume their studies after spending the holidays in the Basin. Bas-in. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Gutzman and children spent the holidays in Salt Lake with Mrs. Nora Cook, formerly of Vernal. Mrs. Cook was operated on Monday morning and is reported getting along fine, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Nebeker of Ogden were' visitors here during the holidays. WMU ELECTS OFFICERS Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Denver were dinner guests at Mr. and Mrs. Ted York's of Whiterocks Thursday Thurs-day evening. Also Mrs. Denver was hostess at a W.M.U. meeting held at her home Friday afternoon. Mrs. York gave the devotional and new officers were elected as follows: Rose Denver, president presi-dent and Elizabeth Shaw, secretary. secre-tary. The afternoon was spent making curtains for Mrs. D. White who has moved in a small home near Fort Duchesne. Lunch was served the group.
