We raise beans for the Utah Packing corporation which employs a number of our girls at the Hyrum Hy-rum factory. We also raise beets and peas. Our enterprising mayor, J. B. White has developed the fishing industry on a large scale, supplying supply-ing a number of markets in California, Cal-ifornia, also markets in our own state with fish daily. Besides the fish industry he hasj marketed about ,3000 first class turkeys to the New York market. We have two general merchandising merchand-ising stores, James Mercantile and Jensen's Cash-tore, a post office by Postmaster Wm. F. James, a service station by Erwin Maddox and a saw mill by John. E. Miles. We have several families that extracts enough honey to be shipped ship-ped to nearby towns. We also have several families who produce pro-duce enough eggs to belong to the Utah Poultry association. We have a well equipped school : Vinco that, prrmlrwes four teachers and about 150 pupils attend. We have 30 students attending South Cache high school, 10 students attending at-tending the USAC, one attending the Heningers Business school, one training to be a nurse at the Budge hospital and one just graduated grad-uated from the barbers school at Salt Lake and two graduates from the USAC last spring. Every organization is well organized, or-ganized, our MIA has engaged in athletics, drama, music, public speaking and re-told stories. The Relief Society has a chorus of singing mothers, and the Primary Pri-mary has 100 per cent of the children enrolled attending Primary. Pri-mary. The adults attend their temple excursions and we all try to take a part in improving our community commun-ity all we can. Mrs. Jane James has held the position of vice president of the ladies division of the Farm Bureau of Cache county for two years. A number of our citizens has remodeled their homes by painting paint-ing and shingling etc, and some of our young married men have built new homes. Many of our people are contemplating to modernize mod-ernize their homes by the new housing act established by the government. We have other undeveloped un-developed resources in our canyons, can-yons, we have one of the largest deposits of high grade iron mines in the west. During the last year we have received a great deal of benefit by the government, we have graveled grav-eled and graded our streets and also the state read commissioners have improved the road from Hyrum Hy-rum and built several cement |
