Show Elk Problem I Discussed By Local Prexy Dr. W. E. Smith, president of the Cache County Fish and Game Protective association, has some well founded ideas on the way the elk situation should be handled hand-led locally. At the state sportts-men's sportts-men's convention in Salt Lake Friday night, he told of the importance im-portance of controlling the Cache elk herd. "Seme real effort must be put forth if we are to control this problem," he said. Continuing Continu-ing he said: The purchase of private pri-vate grazing land does not eliminate eli-minate damage, but it will eliminate eli-minate a lot of trouble between owners of land and the game department. de-partment. We must plan on feed for the elk during severe winters, when all but a little browse is covered by snow, and supply more winter grazing by reducing the number of livestock on the range that can be used for winter feeding feed-ing of game." |
