I board of examiners, reported that' the registration for the winter I quarter was S2 per cent of the fall quarter, cmpared with 91 per cent' last year, and that this year's en- j rollment was 25 per cent highar than that of last year. With the! reduced appropriation, he said, it was difficult to properly admin-' ister the college and to maintain the standards necessary. Ee pointed out that the coleee had the lowest per capita cost Of any agricultural college in the nation. Those who attended the meeting meet-ing were C. G. The board will submit a propos- al to the members of the class of j 1925 to donate the plaque if theyj wish. Otherwise the college will provide it. Cowley was slain at Barrington, 111., near Chicago, while performing perform-ing his duty as a department of justice agent. His body was returned re-turned to Utah and buried in Salt . Lake City. The trustees authorized Dr. W. L. Wanlass to attend meetings of the American Economic associa- tion in Chicago, December 27 to 29, and the meetings of the s Association for the Advancement of I Science in Pittsburgh, January 2 to 4. Professor Chester J. Myers was authorized to attend the national teachers of speech convention at New Orleans December 27 to 29. Additional appropriation for student stu-dent assistants in botany because of the increased registraiton was approved. Glen D. Miner was named as instructor in Spanish for the winter win-ter quarter. An appropriation was approved for making emergency repairs to the main chapel in the interest of safety. The trustees agreed to sell Adams field, the old athletic field, if a reasonable price is offered. of-fered. Dr. E. G. Peterson, president of the college, in a letter to the |
