I The individual farm operator's I report is a confidential government report, and the information contained con-tained in it will be so regarded by the census enumerators, who will visit every farm during the coming months. To the end that the census may be successful it is necessary to have the hearty cooperation of all farmers, all agricultural agencies and the business interests. The widest possible dissemination of information in-formation is important so that every farmer will realize the extent ex-tent and need for full and accurate accur-ate returns. The first agricultural census was taken in 1840; and the last one in 1930, reported there were 6,-288,648 6,-288,648 farms. This census will be taken every five years hereafter. Never before has a census been of greater importanc than the one to be taken this year. .1935 Farm Census To Begin Jan. 1 Copies of the schedule for the United States census of Agricul-- Agricul-- ture for 1935, which is to be taken a. beginning January 1, have been re-v re-v ceived by the Extension Service, announcs Cruz Venstrom, extension service economist. This enumeration enumera-tion will have unusual significance not only because of the devastation devasta-tion and havoc wrought by the draught and depression, but be-jtt be-jtt cause of the changes in farms and r ranches and in the utilization of land brought about by the dis-1 dis-1 tressing agricultural conditions of the last few years. .... , Crop and livestock inf ormatiorii which may never be available again in this generation, and in- rm valuable data on the present 'movements of the people, together ' with full information on such matters mat-ters as the spread of electrification, electrifica-tion, use of machinery and the effect ef-fect of automotive transportation, will be obtained through the farm census. Jjhj Although the census of 1935 will cover practically all of the major items of interest to farmers, the schedule will ask only about one-third one-third as many questions as did the census taken in 1930.
