Show Manila I Clara Robinson Phone 784-3463 Funeral services held in Manila for Elden Lamb A large crowd of friends and relatives attended funeral services for Elden Lamb, 50, at the Manila IDS Chapel on ' Friday, Jan. 9 at 2 p.m. Conducting the services was Bishop William M. Briggs who also gave the obituary. Family prayer was offered by Milton Wilkinson of the McKinnon LDS church. Songs sung were "Beyond the Sunset" sung by Mrs. Duane Lamb and daughter Trade accompanied by another daughter, Terrie and "The Green Green Grass of Home" by the Larsen sisters. Speakers were Tracie Lamb, niece and Donald Larsen. Closing prayer was by Burl Twitchell. , Burial was in the Manila Cemetery. The Smith Funeral Home in Green River, Wyo., was in charge of funeral arrangements. Dedication of the grave was made by Dixon Christensen. Pallbearers were Duane (Buck) Lamb, Gene Briggs, Larry, Jerry, Chuck and Jim Vincent. Honorary pallbearers were Merlin Schofield, Dewey Ercih, Harvard Redden, Forrest Pallesen, Doyle Slagowski, Brian Coulter and Ray Moulten. Elden Lamb was a life long resident of Manila having lived here all except one winter when he lived in Rock Springs, Wyo. He passed away at the Sweetwater County Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack at 9:02 Tuesday, Jan. 6. He was born on Oct. 26, 1930 in Manila to Archie M. Lamb and Bernice Schofield Lamb. On Aug. 1, 1958 he married Velma Vincent of Fowler, Idaho in Manila. He served in the armed forced and was stationed in Germany. He was employed by the U.S. Forest Service at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by one infant son. He is survived by his wife Velma, 3 sons, Danny, Kenneth and Neal and one daughter, Nola; his parents; one brother Duane (Buck) Lamb; 2 sisters, Cherrill Woodared and Mrs. Gene (Ferl) Briggs all of Manila and a number of nieces and nephews. The Manila Barrel! Racing club held a cake raffle (16 cakes in all) during the Women's Volleyball Tournament held Dec. 8, 9 and 10. The Club made a little over $100. "Good going club," says club officer Fayette Wilde. Gene Briggs, Daggett County Clerk, swore in the two new Daggett County Commissioners at the County Commissioner's Com-missioner's meeting Wednesday. The commissioners elected La Ray Sadlier as chairman again. The commissioner duties will be as follows: LaRay Sadlier-highways and cemetery; Carl Collett-television, zoning and planning; Jerry Taylor-buildings Taylor-buildings and grounds, airport, ambulance am-bulance and fire department. Mr. and Mrs. George Olson and children moved to Mapleton during the Christmas holidays. Manila Aging Board held a meeting following the senior- citizen dinner Wednesday noon and selected a committee to decide entertainment for an evening social on the last Wednesday Wed-nesday of each month. The Daggett March of Dimes ' Mother's March is being held Jan. 13-14. 13-14. Volunteers will be calling at the homes. A film will be shown at the Daggett County Courthouse at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13. The film is entitled "Inside my Mom." It is on nutrition and is of special importance for pregnant mothers and those who might become mothers. Visiting at the L.P. Biorn home this weekend were Lawrence's sister and brother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Davis and son Terrell of Connell, Wash., and Biorn's son Larry Biorn and daughter Stacie of Evanston, Wyo. Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Ruble returned retur-ned this weekend from Roseburg, Ore., where they had visited Mrs. Ruble's brother Clifford Yohey. On their return trip they visited with 3 of her nephews and a niece in Reno and Fallon, Nev. Sue Tinker returned from the hospital. She was accompanied by her sister of Farson, Wyo. Mrs. Elsie Twitchell left with her son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Lennie Twitchell for Renton, Wash., where she plans to stay with her son Tony and family. A pine bough arch with burgandy colored velvet ribbon and bubble lights over the arch and flanked by flocked Christmas trees was the scene for the marriage of Sara Marie Wilkinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wilkinson of McKinnon, Wyo., and Kenneth Lamb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elden Lamb, at the McKinnon LDS Recreational Hall on Dec. 27, 1980. The bride's father Bishop Steve Wilkinson performed the ceremony. The bride was attired in a long Victorian white satin gown. The cuffs extended to the elbow and were covered with lace and adorned with seed pearls. The full sleeves above the cuffs were partially covered by a long lacy ruffle attached to the lace covered bodice. She wore a pearl ring on her right hand and her bouquet was white carnations and red roses. The bride's matron of honor was her cousin, Paula Forbes. The bridesmaids were Gwen Wilde, Robin Wilkinson, Nola Lamb and Christy Jo Triplett. The bestman was the groom's best friend, Clay Muir. Ushers were Victor Mitchell, Neal Lamb, Johnny Rogers, and Danny Lamb. The matron-of-honor's dress was made a cream colored polyester with cream colored lace collar and burgandy ribbon at the neck. She held a bouquet of red carnations. The bridesmaids wore long burgandy colored dresses with cream colored lace collars and held white carnations. The flower girl was Heidi Slagowski. She wore a princess style burgandy dress covered with white lace and carried a basket of white carnations and red baby roses. The organist was Tracie Lamb. The bride's mother wore a short burgandy dress with full long sleeves which was gathered at the middle of the V neckline. Her corsage was red and white carnations. The groom's mother wore a short white dress printed with a brown floral pattern with long full sleeves and a v-neckline. v-neckline. She wore a red and white carnation corsage. A reception followed the wedding. In charge of the guest book was Amy Gonter. The pure white 3 tiered wedding cake was decorated with white roses. The top piece was bells with roses in the centers. At the gift table were Monica Wilde, Jana Wilkinson and Stephanie Wilkinson. Gift bearers were Weston and Dana Wilkinson. At the refreshment table were Dorthell Gonter and Alice Triplett with Sherrie Wilkinson, Veronica Triplett, Leslie Wilde and Marilee Geis serving. The bride attended Beaverhead County High School in 1977-78 and Manila High School from 1978 until she graduated with the class of '80. She attended one semester at Weber State College. The groom attended Manila school and graduated in the class of '79. He is presently employed by Pioneer Specialist in Green River, Wyo. After a four-day honeymoon in Jackson Hole, Wyo., the young couple are home in Manila. Over 300 people attended the wedding and reception. The county seat of Uintah County, Vernal, boasts a population figure for 1980 of about 8,100. Total population for the county is in the area of 20,000 people. |
