Show Uintah to host J'ordan The Uintah High School varsity girl hoopstei-s suffered iosses on the road in Magna, Thursday and in Kar.geiy, Saturday. The Utes were downed by Rar.gely's varsity team, 68 to 63. Rangely had an 18 to 11 lead at the end of the first quarter and had a 41 to 23 lead after two quarters. The score at the end of the third quarter was 56 to 41 in "favor of Rangely. Uintah outscored tU.i. ;:'y, 22 to 12 in the fourth quarter. Darian Abeggien was the top scorer for Uintah with 21 points and Pennie Murray put in 13 points. Also scoring points for Uintah were: Teresa Smith, 9; Heidi Green, 4; Lynnette Merrell, 4; Chris Molt, 3: Jodune Merkley, 3 and Lisa Jorgensen, 2. The Cyprus Pirates toppled Uintah, 62 to 39. The Cyprus crew had an 8 to 7 lead after one quarter and a 27 to 13 ad vantage at the end of the second quarter. The Pirates had a 46 to 25 lead after three quarters. Abeggien put in 14 points for the Utes. Also scoring points for Uintah were: Smith, 8; Jorgensen, 5; Murray, 5; Mott, 4; Rhonda Rhodes, 2; Merrell, 2 and Merkley, 1. Uintah's junior varsity team toppled Cyprus, 44 to 38. The Pirates had leads of 13-11, first quarter; 21-17, second quarter and 29-33, third quarter. Murray Mur-ray was the top scorer with 19 points and Green added 16 points. The Utes will battle the Buffaloes in Tooele, Thursday and will host Jordan, January 22 at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Uintah Uin-tah will battle Altamont on the road, January 23 and Judge Memorial', January 27. |
