Show Arrests made on dinosaur theft case Four men w ere arrested last week in connection with the theft of three dinosaur replicas and pleaded guilty to Class A and B misdemeanor charges Monday in the Seventh Circuit Court. From information of two witnesses, who saw the men at the site where the dinosaurs were found in Dry Fork, police arrested two Roosevelt juveniles and Ricky D. Wymer, 18 of Roosevelt and Greg McKenzie, 19 of Vernal. According Ac-cording to police officers the four men confessed to taking the replicas from Dinosaur Garden the first of last week. The two juveniles were turned to the juvenile court and the two adults were charged with second degree felony theft and encarcerated in the Uintah County Jail on $1,000 bail, said Det. Paul Parker, Vernal City Police. Following plea bargaining with the county attorney, the adults pleaded guilty to Class A and B misdemeanors which are punishable by a maximum of $1,000 fine and one year jail sentence and a minimum $299 fine and a six month jail sentence. Circuit Judge Whitney D. Hammond ordered a presentence investigation and set the sentence hearing for Jan. 30. The Department of Probation and Parole will make recommendations of a sentence. |
