EPA holds hearing on Moon Lake Project Environmental Protection Agency representative, Willis McClave, of the Denver region, held a public hearing, Thurs., Jan. 8, at the Golden Age Center to recieve comments and proposals concerning the 800 megawatt coal steam powered generating units to be located at the Moon Lake Project, seven miles northwest of Bonanza. The units are being constructed by the Deseret Generation and Transmission Transmis-sion Cooperative. The proposed Moon Lake Plant is a major emitting facility for particulates, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and carbon dioxide; emissions will be from two coal fired electrical power units that will generate 400 megawatts each. Assurance was the point of concern for six energy companies present for the hearing. Each company wanted to be guaranteed by the EPA that in the future they will have their own company com-pany space for their particular air quality needs. Walt Clinger, senior meteorologist with Tosco, made two comments. McClave took his name so an EPA representatvie could speak to him at a later date.
