Show ALICE GARDNER Funeral services were held last Thursday in the Ballard ward chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for Mrs. Alice Jane Long Gardner, 80, who died at 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 25 at the home of a i;on, Winfred Long, at Bennett, of causes incident to age. She was born June 16, 1873, in Blairsville, Gr., a daughter Of William Henrv and Emily Jane Walker Payne. She married mar-ried Nathan Long in Georgia. He died in 1900. She later married mar-ried John A. Gardner in Vernal. She was a member of the LDS church. The Singing Mothers of the ward sang two numbers; Earl Gardner sang, "Mother Mc-Crea," Mc-Crea," Glen and Marion Gardner Gard-ner and a Miss Gardner from California, sang a trio; Orlan Cook and Russel Todd were the speakers. - The Gardners were early pioneers pio-neers of Alterra, besides these two sons she is survived by her husband, twin sons, Howard Gardner, of California, and Harold Har-old Gardner, of Salt Lake City; two step-sons, Earl and Delmar Gardner, and a step-daughter, Mrs. E. S. McQuarrie, of Beaver; Bea-ver; 31 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. HOME Final rites were held at the Mt. Home LDS ward chapel last Friday, Jan. 29, for Mrs. Amelia Roseland Roos Mitchell, 81, who died at her home Jan. 26, at 12:05 p.m. of causes incident to age. Born in Helisberg, Sweden, April 6, 1872, she was the daughter of Karl Christensen Petersen Roseland. She married Joseph Oscar Roos in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple Dec. 20, 1893. He died July 3, 1899. On Dec. 23, 1904. she was married to Ernest J. Mitchell in Coalville. Coal-ville. She was a member of the LDS church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by the following follow-ing sons and daughters: Mrs. Ovilla (Edna) Roos Frenett, Salt Lake City; Mrs. William (Lillian) (Lil-lian) Roos Gribbs, Layton May Mitchell, Mrs. Jack (Viola) Blea-zard, Blea-zard, Reed L., Mt, Home; Mrs. Eva Williams, Vallejo, Calif; 17 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Four brothers and one Bister who survive are: Mrs. Emma Marchant, Midvale.... Oscar Reuben Reu-ben Jensen, Peoa, Nels Jensen, Idaho Falls, and Charles Mick-elson, Mick-elson, an adopted son, Weston, Idaho. Following the funeral services which were conducted by Bishop Bish-op Kenneth J. Richards, her body was taken to Peoa for burial under the direction of Olpin Ol-pin Mortuary, oi Roosevelt. CHARLES R. (RAY) SEARLE NEOLA Funeral services were held at the Olpin Mortuary Mor-tuary in Roosevelt, Tuesday, Feb. 2, for Charles Raymond (Ray) Searle, 70, who died Saturday Sat-urday at American Fork after a long illness. Born Dec. 22, 1883, in Pay-son, Pay-son, he was the son of Philo and Sarah Jane Davis Searle. A former resident of Neola, Mr. Searle had also resided in Vernal. Ver-nal. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Adeline Peterson, Neola, and Mrs. Alta Kimball, Roosevelt. Graveside services were held at Maeser-Fairview cemetery, where burial took place under the direction of the Olpin Mortuary, Mor-tuary, of Roosevelt. TOUNGIE WOPSOCK WHITEROCKS Funeral services ser-vices were held in the St. Elizabeth's Eliza-beth's Episcopal church Sunday Sun-day for Mrs. Toungie Wopsock, 81, who died in a Vernal hospital hos-pital Jan. 28 at 10 p.m. following follow-ing an illness. Born in Spanish Fork, she is survived by her husband, Johnson John-son Wopsock, two' sons, Henry. Steward, Nev., and John, of Whiterocks. Nine grandchildren also survive. Burial was in the Whiterocks cemetery under the direction of the Vernal Mortuary. I WHITEROCKS Death claimed claim-ed Mrs. Maude Manning, 70, at her home in Whiterocks last Saturday at 10 a.m. after a lingering lin-gering illness. Funeral services were held Monday in the St. Elizabeth's Episcopal church, with Rev. Richard E. Lundberg, vicar of the St. Paul's church of Vernal, conducting. Survivors include her husband, hus-band, Anson Manning; son and daughter, Ferdinand and Margaret Mar-garet Manning, both of Whiterocks; White-rocks; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Nellie Cuch, Whiterocks. White-rocks. Burial was in the Whiterocks cemetery under the direction of the Olpin Mortuary, of Roosevelt. |
