Show Mrs. Ellen Bracken Phone 62062 Gold - Green Ball Set For Saturday The Gold and Green Ball of Ballard MIA will be held at Victory Park, Saturday evening Feb. 6. All MIA are invited to be there. Dr. and Mrs. E. S. McQuarrie and daughter, of Beaver, were here during the week to' attend the funeral of Mrs. John A. Gardner. Among others from distant points were, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gardner, of San Bruno, Calif., and their daughter, daugh-ter, who is attending the BYU from Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Gardner and family, from Salt Lake City were here also. Seth Asay is now employed as assistant custodian at the Union Un-ion High School in place of Squire Mangum. Kenneth Betts left last Wednesday Wed-nesday for Eureka, Calif, to visit vis-it his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Haws, before reporting to San Francisco. From there he would sail for Korea. Mrs. Frank McMullin, of Randlett, and son, Chester, were viistors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bingham on Thursday. Thurs-day. Mrs. Elton Kettle presented the Social Science lesson at Relief Society last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Betts and family, of Tridell, have been recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Betts. Lamont Nielson, of Roosevelt, was in Ballard as a High Councilman, Coun-cilman, on Sunday. Mrs. Nielson Niel-son and Glen Allred were vising vis-ing stake Sunday School board members. Mr. and Mrs. Nielson visited the Junior Sunday School. Cecil Jenkins attended the Denver National Western Livestock Live-stock show with others from Roosevelt, last week. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Frandsen attended a partv at Neola recently, re-cently, given byMr. and Mrs. Evan Olson. Mr. and Mrs. Wendel John-sen John-sen and family were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nash, at Vernal one evening' last week. Squire Mangum, who has been on the sick list for some time, is able to be out again. Clarence Betts, - who is employed em-ployed at Soldiers' Canyon, spent the past weekend with his' family. All but two of the ward Primary officers and teachers attended the stake Primary Preparation Pre-paration meeting in Roosevelt on Saturday afternoon. Lynn White and Norman Angus An-gus were home for the week end, from Logan, and Gary Gardner spent several days home from the BYU. Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Johnson attended the regional meeting of the Seminary employees and partners, at thee Union Seminary Semin-ary on Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. James Miller, of Springville, were here a few days during the week, visiting friends and relatives and to attend at-tend the funeral of Mrs. John A. Gardner. Mrs. Thelma Young of Oregon, and Mrs. LaRue Wardle of Springville were here also. All three ladies are sisters of Mr. Gardner. Practice for the singing mothers of the ward was held at the chapel Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Earl Winn entertained one evening last week in honor of her daughter's (Shirley) birthday. The following1 were there: Mrs. David Lundberg and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kowles of Neola. j Ottis Horrocks of Bennett, Austin Wardle of Leota and La-zell La-zell Henrie of Neola visited at Ballard Sunday School for a while Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Weldoti Ross and family have moved from Ballard to Myton. Wendel Johnson went to Vernal Ver-nal Sunday evening Jan. 24, where he was one ofthe judges of the Uintah Stake Seminary contest. |
