Show Irs. Eari Timothy Crowned Local Polio Mother For 1954 Mrs. Earl Timothy was voted the Polio Mother for Roosevelt for 1954 during the "Mothers' March on Polio" last Friday night. Announcement was made by Mayor Paul Murphy at the basketball game last Friday night, when he presented the winner with a dozen American Beauty roses, compliments of the Landscape Floral. Mrs. Timothy Tim-othy was sponsored by Sooial-ette Sooial-ette Club. Total amount collected during dur-ing the march amounted to $314.88. Mrs. Donald Laris, Roosevelt chairman, wishes to thank all mothers who assisted with the Mothers' March, and announced announ-ced that complete totals of the city's polio drive would be reported re-ported next week. Other contestants for Polio Mother, who' all ran closely in total votes, included: Mrs. Parley Par-ley Rawlings, Culture Club; Mrs. Presley Timothy, Kiwanis; Mrs. Gordon Harmston, B.P.W.; Mrs. John Swenson, Lions; Mrs. Kirk Benson, American Legion; and Mrs. Kenneth Aycock, Legion Leg-ion Auxiliary. |
