Show Neola Tops Quota In Polio Drive The most successful Polio drive ever staged in this community com-munity was brought to a close Saturday. Neola's , assessment was $150.00, and a total of $172.89 was collected. According to' Lorin Mills, who has directed the local campaign for several years, this is the first time to his knowledge that the quota has been exceeded. Through this column he extends his gratitude to the support given. Containers were placed in the Mitchell Locker Plant; Peterson's Service Station, the school and Mr. Mills' own store. Patrons of the weekly ward show were also generous in their contributions. A "Mothers' March" climaxed ' the drive, with a house-to-house canvas being made by the following: Gussie Yack, Virgie Bastian, Mae Sprouse, Fern Oberhansley, Grace Dye, Ida Dye, Mary Winn, Irene Henrie, Melba Ek-sund, Ek-sund, Fern Peterson, Norma Crozier and Delma Bastian. Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Lar-sen Lar-sen and family, of Salt Lake City, spent Sunday at the La-Vell La-Vell Horrocks home. Mr. Horrocks Hor-rocks returned to Salt Lake with them and spent a few days there visiting. Stake visitors at Primary last Thursday were Alta Hurley and Gay Johnson. |
