Show This Week's RECIPE . . . An excellent way to utilize ground beef is by making it into a meat loaf. Try the following fol-lowing recipe, which is deli-ciously deli-ciously flavored: FAVORITE MEAT LOAF (Marguerite Mickelsen, NAS Home & Food Editor) IV2 lbs. ground beef Vz lb. ground pork Vi cup finely chopped onion 2 tsp. salt Vi tsp. pepper V4 tsp. sage Vi tsp. poultry seasoning 1 tbs. Worcestershire sauce 2 eggs 1 cup tomato juice 4 slices bread Combine ,meat with onion and seasoning. Beat eggs and add tomato', juice. Cube bread and soak in liquid mixture. Beat well. Add to meat and mix lightly. Let loaf stand for 10 minutes, then drain off liquid and turn out of pan. Spread with catsup or hot tomato sauce. (If desired loaf may be spread with 13 cup catsup before be-fore baking. This adds moisture and interesting ilavor). |
