Show D.U.P. Holds Meet The D.U.P. held their meeting meet-ing for Januarv last Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. LaRue Fisher. The lesson was given by Mrs. Marion Reese. Those present were Mrs. Mary Dump, Mrs. Mary Riley, Mrs. Margaret Maxfield, Mrs. Mary Carroll, Mrs. Helen Palm and mother, Mrs. Ethel Fisher, Mrs. Naomi Fisher, Mrs. Twila Ralphs, Mrs. Inez AmeS, Mrs. Lucy. Jacobson, Mrs. Murial Kolb and Mrs. Velda Burgess. , Mrs. Delos Bird and new son were able to be brought home from the Roosevelt Hospital Thursday. She is staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lin- i i ford Maxfield. I YOUTH KILLED BY GUN Word was received in Alton-ah Alton-ah Thursday, of the accidental shooting of Dean Timothy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Von Timothy, of Bonanza. Dean was shot through the abdomen with a 22 calibre rifle while hunting rabbits. rab-bits. He succumbed to his injuries in-juries Sunday in a Vernal hospital. hos-pital. The Timothys are former residents of Altonah. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Reese, Mrs. Ty Kolb and Mrs. Mary Carroll made a trip to Salt Lake City, Thursday, returning home Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Ted McCurdy and family, of Vernal, spent the weekend with Mrs. McCurdy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ralphs. The two small daughters of Mr. and Mrs. George Berrett, of Altamont, stayed a few days with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Powell, while their mother was in the Roosevelt Roose-velt Hospital a few days. Clarence Smith accompanied his son, Grant, to Vernal on business Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Reese and family returned Monday of last week from their trip to Florida. Mr. and Mrs. John Clark and family, of Bonanza, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Powell. CHOIR STARTED The Altonah ward is starting a choir with Mrs. J. Arthur Timothy as president and Mrs. Elva Snyder assisting. Their first practice was held Sunday night in the ward hall. TENTH BIRTHDAY Mrs. Linford Maxfield entertained enter-tained a group of boys and girls at a party Thursday afternoon, Jan. 28, in honor of her son, Norman's 10th birthday. Games and refreshments were enjoyed by the following guests: Kent Tviaxfield, Michael Fisher, Jane Jacobson, Mary Ann and Jim Riley, Rav Fisher and Janet Brotherson. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Allred and Mrs. Wanda Allred made a trip to Rangely, Colo., Tuesday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Bob Berrett. Ber-rett. They returned home Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Harold Ralphs received medical med-ical care at the Roosevelt Hospital Hos-pital last week. |
