Show Flood Control Program In Duchesne Co. During Past Year Is Reviewed By Soil Conservation Service Two flood rehabilitation programs pro-grams have been in effect in Duchesne County during the past two years to repair or restore re-store flood-damaged irrigation systems and farm lands, according accord-ing to John Strang, of the Soil Conservation Service, Duchesne officg. The 'Farmland Restoration Program" was under the administration admin-istration of the PMA. Under this program, the farmers and ranchers carried out specific restoration practices, either themselves or by having the work done by others. Upon completion com-pletion of the prescribed work, they received payment from the PMA to help with 80 per cent of the total cost. SCS engineers assisted the PMA by designing, laying out, and checking the standards of the restoration work. The "Utah Flood Rehabilitation Rehabilita-tion Program" was under the administration of the Soil Conservation Con-servation Service. Under this program, the SCS designed and laid out the rehabilitation of irrigation ir-rigation systems, streambank protection work, etc., and carried car-ried out all contract procedures. The farmers or ranchers contributed con-tributed from at least 20 per cent to over 60 per cent of the total cost, depending upon the degree of improvement made in the reconstructed works. This contribution was made in the form of labor or cash or both.
