Show Legion Sees. Convention Films The American Legion Auxiliary, Auxil-iary, Wm. R. Sands Unit No. 5, entertained the Legion members on Thursday evening at the Legion Leg-ion Hall. Department Commander Comman-der William Sutteer was a visitor, vis-itor, bringing films of the National Na-tional convention at New York City in 1952 and at St. Louis in 1953, which were shown to the crowd with A. C. Tolboe in charge of the projection. Much interest was shown in the scenes at the convention halls and the gorgeous parades. Games were enjoyed during the early evening and a delicious fried chicken supper was served to about 40 members. Frank Uresk went to Salt Lake City, Tuesday to bring his wife and small son, Roland, home. Roland underwent surgery sur-gery the previous Friday and improved so rapidly that he was able to return home earlier than expected. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Woodard Wood-ard -and three children arrived last week from Blue Lake Calif, to' make their home here. They have leased the "Spike" Jor-gensen Jor-gensen ranch in Pleasant Valley Val-ley and are now settled in their new home. Norman Dennis came from Salt Lake City last week for a short visit at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Syrel Dennis. Norman is employed by Safeway Co. and anticipated being be-ing transferred to their store in Price. . Mr., and .Mrs. Elwin Porritt were weekend visitors at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Porritt. They returned re-turned Sunday evening to Vernal, Ver-nal, where they are now residing, re-siding, having recently been transferred from Colo., where Elwin has been employed by an oil company. Mr. and Mrs. Syrel Dennis enjoyed a weekend visit from Mr. Dennis sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Woodard, of Provo. Mrs. Woodard Wood-ard is the former Mellie Dennis and resided here in her early girlhood. |
