Show Btffl. Kf ave Rave By Soon-An-Ex-Senior SpafT You can tell May 29th is approaching... ...WHEN A bunch of seniors will pay $15 a piece to dress up and listen to other seniors speak. The traditional senior banquet was held at the Hilton last Saturday and featured leaders from every department reminding us what we've subjected ourselves to this year. Thank you, Stoney, Holly, Brad and Dennis, for a great job with this and with the rest of 1985-86. 1985-86. ..WHEN student stop boycotting tests long enough to voluntarily take the worst ones yet. The mental strain of A. P. classes climaxed this week with the infamous in-famous actual A. P. tests. Congratulations, Congra-tulations, everyone, and don't worry -- you all got fives. And if teachers worried about poor attendance before, they ain't seen nothin' yet! ...WHEN MODERATELY respectable re-spectable students start dressing up like donkeys, ducklings, and snowflakes. The children's theater classes lost control of their dignities last weekend when they jointly performed per-formed six shows of "Round-the- Clock Stories." Many unsuspecting unsuspect-ing children caught a humorous glimpse of what high school is really real-ly like. They went home singing "We're gonna read around the clock tonight." Seriously. . ...WHEN COLLEGES hand out thousands of dollars in scholarships scholar-ships to kids whom they aren't sure will even graduate. The annual awards night is the night of May 2 1 . At 7 in the auditorium, auditor-ium, representatives from many schools and organizations will officially offi-cially present all kinds of scholarships scholar-ships to lots of those who wish to further their education. (Or maybe the officials are all BHS administrators adminis-trators in disguise, paying to get us out of their hair.) ...WHEN THE BHS choir students stu-dents prepare to step off of their pedestals by offering their "final concerts." Xela will be leaving Broadway-and Broadway-and Chamber Choir will be taking their hats (and jackets) off-- for nearly the last time this weekend. Xela's final concert will be held tomorrow night and Chamber's will be held Saturday. Both begin in the BHS auditorium at 7:30. Also, Symphony Hall will be hosting host-ing the "Grand Finale" Spring Concert on Monday Night (May 19) at 8. This gala will feature every BHS band and choir member in their last performance of the year. Who cares if some guys in San Francisco say "North Wind" is "too perfect" and the choir hasn't developed "an inner relationship" with their songs? It's still some of the best talent in the state, and you are all invited to find that out for yourselves. AH concerts are free. ...WHEN THE seniors do something some-thing religious together. Vespers will be held on Sunday, May 25 at 2 p.m. The service will take place in the freshly-carpeted BHS auditorium. It's the perfect chance to request divine assistance in helping the class of '86 make it through whatever lies ahead. ...WHEN THE BHS Seminary willingly graduates a bunch of seniors who still have an "official" full week of school left to go. Whether they're doing us a loving lov-ing favor or they just can't put up with us anymore, the seminary will be holding graduation exercises in the Regional Center on Sunday, May 25 at 7 p.m. Come offer your congratulations to those diligent students who attended all four years. ...WHEN THE football field starts getting used for something other than track. Tonight is the rescheduled night of last Friday's sit-in, big-screen, football-field movie. "Splash" is always fun, and so is postponing your homework, so bring your blankets, food and AM radios to this visual activity. Be there at 8:30. The cheap thrills are not only cheap, they're free. ...WHEN SENIORS' parents, instead in-stead of telling us to stopy partying, par-tying, plan a party for us! Maybe it's just a rumor, but there has been talk of a massive blowout on the last week of school, partially (mostly?) provided for by the parents of the senior class. Is a trip to Hawaii really being offered as a door prize? Who knows? I just hope you did something nice for Mother's Day. |
