Show Rock Loft holds senior activity FRUIT HEIGHTS Another happy senior activity was held at the Rock Loft in Fruit Heights, following fol-lowing the recent Davis County Senior Citizens' Halloween project. pro-ject. This time it was a gala Christmas Christ-mas party by a group of seniors calling themselves "The Classmates Class-mates of 27-35." The same group was on Channel 5 Prime Time Access last June when they convened for a special class reunion of the old Kaysville Elementary school. They had spent eight years growing up together in grades 1-8. It all got started last year when a nostalgic senior retired citizen, Newell Phillips, decided to look up the surviving elementary school classmates and school teachers. This he succeeded in doing, with the help of Jack Schoffield, James Strong, Carol Birkenfeld and Dean Streeper, and after much travel in Utah and western states, and the videoing of the interviews. A Christmas party was held recently re-cently for those interested in reminiscing re-miniscing and sharing their life experiences ex-periences since. With the committee effort to help Dale and Margaret Jost, the hosts, the old Rock Loft cherry packing and processing warehouse was decorated and lighted like a wondrous winter wonderland. The mass chit-chatting, laughter and Christmas caroling was a great addition to this group's memories. Mr. Jost says this brings a rewarding reward-ing fulfillment of joy to have his childhood classmates gather in such a happy manner. |
