Show Clearfield Falcon Forum By BRADY NIXON I hope you all had a merry'1 Christmas and that your new year" is off to a good start. I know, the school vacation could have been longer, but I'm glad to get back to familiar faces. The semester is almost here. I can't believe the school year is half over. For my final article I have an issue to address that I've noticed in high school. I don't know what good it will do, but it's something that needs to be said. Basketball will begin region play this Friday. Both teams will be playing Bonneville. We are off to a great start in both boys' and girls' basketball, so come out and support sup-port the teams. I think the Lady Falcons have the strength to take state for the second year in a row. The boys' basketball team looked very impressive in preseason play, and I think we will see them go far also. Jan, 9 is a day that should be circled on every calendar. January " 9 is a very sacred day. Jan. 9 is MORP! If you don't know, or haven't ha-ven't guessed, MORP is PROM backwards. Many refer to it as just an excuse for a dance, but hey, the No MORP is more than just an excuse for a dance. It's the dance where you can dress like your parents pa-rents did in high school and get away with it! After much debating and consideration con-sideration we, the studentbody officers, came up with the theme to the dance. "Great Nerds in History"! His-tory"! Come as a famous person, except come as if they would have been nerds. Go ahead and buy a pair of horn-rimmed glasses. Put a big wad of tape in the middle. Borrow Bor-row Dad's Bryl Cream and grease your hair flat. Invest in a pocket protector and pens. Polyester, plaid, tacky clothes, because anything any-thing goes at this once in a lifetime opportunity. What would Adam and Eve look like as nerds? How about George Washington? Come to MORP and find out. That same day there is a wrestling wrest-ling tournament at the U of U. If you're up to a day full of excitement, excite-ment, go to both the tournament and MORP. Well, another week of our lives has passed away, and so did my neighbor's cats. Cheers! |
