Show News Briefs From Neighboring - NEOLA By Lecia Horrocks Slumber Party field By Group A girls-get-together, which was entended to be a slumber party, was held at the Phyllis Eksund home last Thursday. A waffle supper sup-per was enjoyed, followed by making mak-ing candy and popping corn. Christmas gifts were exchanged at midnight by the following; Pat Gines, Carolyn Ross, Diane Nelson, Jenette Smithson, Sherene Henrie and the hostess. Mrs. Richard Olsen is employed at the Roosevelt post office during the holiday season. Santa Claus came early to Mr. and Mrs. Willford Oberhansley. They are riding in a new Buick to do their Christmas shopping. Mrs. Durrell McMullen returned to Neola last Monday, after spending spend-ing several weeks with her husband, hus-band, who has been stationed in Virginia. She will stay here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaVell Horrocks, until her husband can arrange for housing facilities at his new post in Washington. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Harrison were Salt take City visitors last Friday. Herald Crapo and Mrs. Owen Burgess of the Stake Sunday School board attended Sunday School here last Sunday. Ann and Marilyn Peterson are relaxing from their studies at the B. Y. U. They arrived home last weekend for a two week vacation. Ralph Anderton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Anderton, arrived home last Friday for a twenty day furlough from his station at Mare Island, California. He recently returned re-turned from a trip to Korean waters. Ralph is studing radar, and states that he is enoying his work very much. CITED FOR ATTENDANCE Amanda Henrie, Eliza Mitchell and Jennie Woodward received recognition re-cognition at Union meeting last Sunday for attendance during the past year. Each had been absent from only one meeting of the Relief Society which is held monthly in Roosevelt. SING XMAS CAROLS; DELIVER GIFT BOXES Members of the Home-builder Trail-builder classes of Primary conducted their anual Christmas Caroling last Sunday afternoon. Gaily decorated boxes of goodies were taken to the older couples of the ward, as well as the widows and widowers. They were accompanied accom-panied by teachers Deatha Olsen, Bonnie Duncan, Nita Horrocks, Eva Dye, Kate Peterson, Dahlia Duston and executives Irene Henrie and Lola Davis. |
