William Fausett Pass 53 Years Of Carried Life Together; OpenEIouse Honored Pioneers Dec. 8 Recently Mr. and Mrs. William Fausett of Roosevelt, were feted on their fifty-eighth wedding anniversary an-niversary when members of the family and friends joined in a simple openhouse party. William and Bertha Fausett were married at Heber City on Dec. 8, 1896, and are the parents of eight children, six of which are still living. They boast thirty-nine thirty-nine grandchildren and thirty-eight thirty-eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Fausett was born at Provo April 25, 1875, a son of Romanzo and Samatha Fausett. At the age of 15 Mr. Fausett's family moved from Provo to Wallsburg. He has pursued the vocation of farming most of his life, but worked some in the timber as a logger. He and his wife raised the first four acres of wheat to be grown in Fruit-land. Fruit-land. They flailed it out with clubs and took it to Heber where they had it ground into flour. The Fausetts moved to Red Creek at the opening of the Reservation. Res-ervation. He helped to build the Red Creek canal that brought water wat-er out onto the bench. They lived here for five years when they moved to the Roosevelt area in 1913, settling about three miles south of town.' He broke up 40 acres of brush land for his mother-in-law, and rented and farmed an Indian lease for 22 years. Cattle and sheep raising was also a part of his activities as a farmer and rancher. (Conlinued from page one) In 1936 the Fausetts bought a farm seven miles south of Roosevelt, Roose-velt, where they lived until 1949 when he retired and moved to Roosevelt where they have lived since. Mrs. Fausett was born May 23, 1876, a daughter of James and Lydia Herbert, of Wallsburg. While living at Red Creek she sold butter and cheese to the Eastern East-ern homesteaders Sons and daughters who are still living include William, at Ioka.... Dick, Upalco; Elmer, My-ton; My-ton; Mrs. Mary Cox, Boonville, Calif.; Mrs. Betty Wilson, Santa Rosa, Calif, and Hazel Warr, My-ton. My-ton. The Fausetts are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and are living in the Roosevelt ward. About eighty friends and relatives rela-tives greeted them on their wedding wed-ding day and brought many wonderful won-derful gifts to the pioneer couple. They Prize A Letter Among the prize possessions of the Fausetts is a letter from Cong. Walter K. Granger written following follow-ing their Golden Wedding anni-versay anni-versay in 1946.
