Show Set P-TA Program P-TA will be held at Alterra January 6, and Dr Miles Allen of the Duchesne County P-TA council will be guest speaker. It is planned to have a film shown, which she will lecture about. The talk will be on Mental Health. Mrs. Bernice Nelson is back at her school job at the Alterra school. Mrs. Delma Long worked in the Alterra kitchen last Monday as a substitute for Mrs. Agnes Walker Walk-er S Mrs. Lynn Bracken attended a Christmas dinner at the Frontier Grill Friday evening for all the Roosevelt Standard employes. Miss Beverly Squire spent the past week in Salt Lake City visiting vis-iting and shopping. She returned , that weekend with Kirk Allred of Salt Lake City. Boyd and Gay Collins came in with Mr. Allred to spend the holidays with home folks. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmar Parrish were called to Salt Lake City last week because of the death of his father, Mr. Lyman M. Parrish. They stayed out until after the funeral. The three sons of Mr.' and Mrs. Parrish stayed with their grandparents, the Elbert Smiths, during their absence. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Mangum are expected to spend a 30-day furlough at the home of Norman's Nor-man's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Squire Mangum. Norman is in the Navy and has been stationed at Jacksonville, Florida for quite a while. Mr. and Mrs. John Cook have been visiting a few days in Meas-er Meas-er and Vernal this week Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Olson of Magna were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Squire Sunday, Dec. 12. Squire Mangum will leave next week for Los Angeles, California, where he plans on spending some time. Miss Joanne Todd and Earl Mc-Kenna Mc-Kenna went to Salt Lake City to spend the weekend. They plan on being married December 28. Mrs. Darrell McMullin who has been with her husband at Ft. Lee, V;rs;inia, returned home last week Darrell plans to be home some time during the holidays, and after a furlough, he will be stationed sta-tioned at Ft. Lewis, Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Todd who are at Ft. Lee send their best regards to their friends in Ballard. Mrs. Agnes Walker, Reva Hall and Ellen Bracken attended the annual Christmas party for all the county cooks in the schools. It was held at the Elementary school in Vernal Thursday afternoon. after-noon. Gifts were exchanged. Word has been received that Mrs. June Andreason has been moved from the hospital in Oregon Ore-gon to the home of her sister, i Mrs. Grant Hope) Williams in Panguitch. Mrs. Farrell Mohlman of Bountiful Bount-iful and Miss Glenda Walker of Salt Lake City held a personal shower for Miss Joanne Todd in Salt Lake City last week. There will be a Christmas program pro-gram held in the separate school rooms at Alterra before Christmas. Christ-mas. A Christmas dinner was served in the lunch room Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Dec. 22. |
