Show Messages From Local Religious Leaders THEY HEARD THE KING .... "When they heard the king, they departed; and lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. "When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. "And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshiped wor-shiped Him; and when they had opened their treasures, they presented pre-sented unto Him gifts, gold, frankinsence, and myrrh." Matt. Chap. 2, verses 9, 10, 11. Forever will this old familiar story be fresh and renewed at this season. Even though twenty centuries separate us from that glorius announcement; time has not dimmed its real significance. sig-nificance. In this ever changing world we have gone from the camel of the Wise Men to jet propulsion; from the sling shot , to the H bomb; from the papydus to the radio and television. In spite of all these material changes, spiritual principles which were taught by the Lord, Jesus Christ, have never changed. At His birth the Angels said unto the Wise Men: "Fear not; for, behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. And again the multitude of the heavenly host were praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men,." Luke 2:13-14. These same standards must be observed if we are to have the proper equasion of values. Peace will come only by observing the rules which lead to peace. Among them are love, service, honesty, chastity, work, tolerance; the list could go on. Let each of us analyze and re-pledge ourselves to His church, and for the soul satisfying joy that can come to the heart of one j who divinely believes in Jesus Christ is sweeter than any other comfort of the world. Let us do all we can to restore His mission and the truths He taught, and in all our giving let us give the real Spirit of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. Peace reigns once again; Not along the highways, Nor iii the city's din, But it reigns in the hearts Wholy given to Him, Who is Peace on Earth And Heaven within. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you." (John 14:27). Such peace from the Babe of Bethlehem to your hearts, to your families, to all communities of the Uintah Basin, to my dear parishioners, as also to our friendly neighbors for Christmas feast and on all days of the year, 1955, is my heartfelt wish. FATHER IGNATIUS J. STRANCAR, Pastor of St. Helen's Catholic Church THE DAY OF ALL DAYS .... Christmas Greetings From The Roosevelt Baptist And The Gusher Baptist Churches, And The Whiterocks Mission As we come again to celebrate the great day of days, the Tjirth of our Saviour, Jeusu Christ, we are unamle to express our great love in words for Him, who came unto this world Nearly 2000 years ago, from the Father in Heaven, to deliver and to show the people His way of salvation. Jesus said in John, 6:47-48, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, , he that believeth on me hath everlasting life I am that bread of life." In John 3:18 we find these great, words to all people: "He that believeth in Him is not condemned; but he that believeth be-lieveth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." How we thank God, the one who created the heaven and the earth, and allthere is in them, for His great gift, the most precious jewel that heaven could affor, The Son of God, Jesus Christ! The foundation stone of the United States is a fundamental, belief in God. And the only true definition of belief in God came from the lips of the, Son of God Himself, as recorded in the inspired word of God:: "Jesus saith, I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by Me." (John 14:6). Knowing God through the Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest blessing that can come to any person. Oh, how we need to be about His business at this time of the year. Let us come with hopefulhearts this Christmas, and thank God for His great gift to mankind. "And the Angel said unto them, fear not; for, behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." (St. Luke 2:10-11). Pastor, Roosevelt Baptist Church REV. E. R.
