Show School Notes La Ree Swain, Editor The 5th grades of Lapoint are reading the book, "Of Singing Wheels." The first part of the book was about the Stagecoach Days. It was very interesting. We surely did like it. The last part we read was called, "Reading, Writing and Arithmetic." The School Master's name Mr. Hunter. The children couldn't even laugh in school. If they did laugh, they were whipped. BRINGS POPCORN Editor, Tony Arrum Mrs. Eva Huber brought some popcorn to school. We ate it at reccess. Boy, was it good! SOCIAL STUDIES Editor, Doyel Horrocks The 5th grade in the Lapoint school has been studying about the "War of the Revolution',, Benjamin Ben-jamin Franklin was sent to France to ask the King for money, men and ships. When we finish this unit, we will dramatize some of the stories. ' i Mr. and Mrs. Albert Norton of Vernal were visitors of his moth er, Sarah Norton, and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Lambert during the week. McCoy Nyberg, Mrs. Elizabeth Harrison and Neldon Nyberg of Roosevelt went to Price Wednesday Wednes-day morning to attend the funeral of Mrs. Ora Wild of Price, a cousin cous-in to the Nybergs and Mrs. Harrison. Har-rison. Mrs. Darrell Swain and children and Mrs. Smith of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, spent last weekend week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Sike Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Charley Burton and Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Burton of Roosevelt attended a reception in Myton at the American Legion Hall Friday evening, Dec. 3, for Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Larson. |
