Show Girl Scouts Seek Funds The Girl Scout state-wide annual Giving Campaign starts Feb. I and continues through the 18th. Adult volunteers from each troop will be contacting con-tacting parents and friends of Girl Scouting soliciting financial finan-cial support to meet the $50,000 goal. MRS. RONALD Bell. Utah Girl Scout Council Chairman of the 1983 Drive, said funds derived from the campaign help meet the council cost of $50.25 each year for services per girl. Training of adult volunteers to implement the programs for girls, professional profession-al services to troop leaders, program supplies, subsidizing camp activities and upgrading the facilities are all costly services ser-vices to maintain a strong program for girls. The Girl Scouts in Utah Council have given thousands of volunteer hours in civic projects pro-jects during the past year: programs for nursing home residents re-sidents and shut-ins. helped with city clean-ups. distributed distri-buted literature and posters for charin drives, aided with the handicapped and Santa Aid as thex collected toxs. filled food basket'- and decorated trees for the needy. OVER 400 girls trained in water sal'etx and many adults and girls attended Red Cross First Aid courses. Seven troops are organized for the special challenged girls with physical or mental handicaps. Open to all girls 6-17. the Girl Scout program focuses on the five interest areas or "Worlds." They are well being, people, today and tomorrow, the arts and the out-of-doors. A $25 donation enrolls you as a Girl Scout annual giving member. Any donation makes you a friend of Girl Scouting. Together we can build a better world. |
