Show West Mdmmtijml By ALICE MITCHELL Many people of the community com-munity find life more fun and colorful as they enjoy having pets to love. A large percentage percen-tage of the homes in the community com-munity have dogs or cats which are loved by their masters mas-ters and mistresses. Many of the pets are kept in the homes and have their own little little boxes and places to sleep. They are well fed and bathed. They are groomed to be animals anim-als of beauty. They are a delight de-light to the children and the parents. pa-rents. Several people who live alone or are not active find consolation in the antics of their pets. At this time of the year, however, there are pets who are not taken care of. Citizens of the area desire to get rid of animals they don't want. They gather them up in their automobiles and drop them along the way to BARD. The people who live along the way do not want a deluge of animals. It would be well for any unwanted cats or dogs to be taken to the animal shelter, where they may find homes of loving owners or have them put to sleep mercifully. One of the worst occurrences occurr-ences of the winter months mon-ths is the poor care of many of the horses. They are left out in the middle of the elements without shelters. They are not fed. but are left to try to find something to eat digging down under the snow and ice. Some of the larger animals are allowed to wander from field to field. It is a very sad sight to see large numbers of animals shivering in the fields. They try to get together to get a bit of added warmth. If any citizens happen to see parakeets or parrots or any other birds outside, they should get them into the house and get them warm as soon as possible. They can easily catch pneumonia and die. They need special care. The "bottom line'- of the discussion of pets is that if one has a pet, he should take good care of him. Elder Marion G.
