Show Joust Held At Muir Knights, damsels and Mid-Evil Mid-Evil Mercenaries tilted and clanked in a special joust held for the sixth graders at L.J. Muir School last Wednesday. Mike Talbot, social studies teacher, brought the Worldwide Worl-dwide Society of Creative Anachronism to Muir because the Society collects and makes authentic costumes and armors of the Middle Ages. THE BATTLES and actors, whose hobby is the study of this age, gave the sixth graders a real look at the history no text book could make as memorable. Brian Martinez, a student at the University of Utah, who heads the local chapter, brought a 12th Century Norman Nor-man Knight, a Japanese Warrior, War-rior, a Royal Herald, a German Bishop, a damsel and a 9th Century Danish Mercenary to fight it out for the honor of Muir School. |
