Show West Bountiful By ALICE MITCHELL The past week brought different diffe-rent kinds of weather, as in the former weeks. However, the week did bring an event which touched everyone. It was the day set aside as Mother's Day. They can pay tribute to their own mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers. It is a day for all citizens to shed a tear for their mothers and other dedicated women. Some women were served breakfast in bed. Others had dinners made by husbands and eager little would-be cooks. Kitchen helps, flowers, clothing clo-thing and other specially fashioned cards were given and received with a hug and a teary kiss. School programs and church services paid tribute to womanhood. In the various wards in the Utah West Bountiful Stake and the Stone Creek Stake had programs honoring their mothers and other worthy women. Many people visited with mothers and grandmothers grand-mothers in other communities. Mary Watts was visited by her son Kent and wife Beverly Watts. They came from Los Altos, Calif. They took Mary back to California with them since her arm was better and the cast had been removed. The Dan Mitchells will miss Mary and will keep a close watch on her home. The young men and young women of the 1st Ward had a fun box lunch and movie party on the 4th. ' The Aaronic Priesthood young men of the Stone Creek Stake will ride on the Heber Creeper, eat breakfast and lunch on the 14th. Cathy Allman was injured and developed a concussion. She was hospitalized, but is getting better now. Kimberly Holbrook of the 1st Ward announces that the. Beehives are compiling a book! of quotes to sell. Welcome to newcomers the Karston Moore family. They have moved into the former Dorothy Wilson home at 177 N. 800 W. Dale and Kevin Nelson are both engaged and planning weddings. The Jedd Huffs traveled to Provo to see a granddaughter named. Kathy and Joe Lijenquist are parents of a baby boy. The McKean family had fun celebrating Jean McKean's birthday. The Bishop Gary Banger-ters Banger-ters vacationed at Little Sahara near Nephi. The Ken Wellingtons enjoyed en-joyed a birthday breakfast for all of Janet's family during the past week. Among the guests present were Juneal Johnson and daughter Elizabeth, New Hall Calif.; Joyce Watson, Cedar City, a brother from Bountiful and Elizabeth Judd, mother. Kay Mitchell DuShane and Camille Sparkman were invited in-vited to attend the special lua in honor of Joe Ajuna, who is married to Janet James, daughter daugh-ter of the Wayne James. The Ajunas are going to Hawaii to live. Joe will practice law there. The Dan Mitchells and Mary Watts attended the wedding festivities of a nice and granddaughter. grand-daughter. They attended the marriage ceremony, luncheon and the reception in Provo. Sue Townsend, West Bountiful Boun-tiful recreation leader, announces that the recreation program will begin June 6. Flyers will be sent out with the schedule of events. There is something for all ages. Welcome to the Buckington family who moved into a home of Pages Lane. Max Hall went to Houston on business. The Arch Widdisons enjoyed en-joyed a visit from a friend, Thelma Doolittle. They visited Temple Square and the copper mine. Tom and Maurine Mower also visited with the Widdisons. Widdi-sons. They are former West Bountiful residents living in South Willard. |
