Show Farmington boinicil: r Need Volunteer Help In Rose Garden l ! By KATHRYN JENNINGS Farmington City Council met May 4 with Mayor Grant Ungerman pro-tem. WALT BAIN reported on action of the planning commission. commis-sion. Approved at the May 3 meeting, were splitting lots in Oakridge Place, with Alan Prince representing that area. There was also approval for Shepart Creek lot split, represented repre-sented by Dave Leswear, and approval of the Aegean Village lot split on lot 6. The Kum-Li-Meadows conceptual amend-' ment with owner, Wendell Leavitt was also approved. Alan Prince was present for the council meeting, representing repre-senting Oakridge Place and requested re-quested approval of split lots with single family detached homes. There are 19 lots with 14 lots already sold. This request re-quest was approved. DOROTHY Poulk was present, pre-sent, requesting help to maintain main-tain the municipal rose garden. Mrs. Poulk has worked in the rose garden for more than eight years, pruning, fertilizing and all the other jobs that go along with a beautuful rose garden. Help from individuals has been given through the years and Boy Scouts and other organizations organi-zations have assisted at times. Any volunteers who would assist through this season should contact Max Forbush at the city offices, 451-2383. Mr. Forbush has agreed to get some help with this project, so the community may continue to enjoy this rose garden. THE COUNCIL voted to give Mrs. Poulk a vote of thanks and appreciation for her many years of fine work in keeping the rose garden a place of beauty for all to enjoy. Jim Cowan, scoutmaster of Troop 534 and one of the scouts were present for special work on merit badges. THE ARCHITECTS, Lloyd-Butler and Associates were present concerning the new municipal building and to review plans for the building. There were several suggestions sugges-tions made and a few changes and adjustments. Councilman Hughes made the motion to accept the adjusted plans and the council voted for approval and authorization to start construction con-struction drawings. MR. AND Mrs. Don Peay presented a problem with water wa-ter in their basement home on 200 West. There was a question as to the direct cause, it might be from city or Lagoon water connections. con-nections. THE COUNCIL agreed to request the city insurance people peo-ple to come out and investigate liability on the problem. Wendell Leavitt and son presented revised plans for their Kum-Li-Meadows building build-ing sites. MR. FORBUSH explained the conceptual approval of the amended plot, Mr. Leavitt plans to build five 4-plexes. The council approved this plan. The animal control activity was explained by Mr. Forbush. For-bush. VAL MORTON, police chief, has authority to pick up the loose dogs at any time of day. Some dogs have been picked up and penned at the city complex and owners could retrieve the dogs later. The council gave Mr. Morton Mor-ton authority to continue picking pick-ing up dogs, loose on the streets. The council authorized autho-rized reserve officers to assist with the dog pickup and to receive re-ceive $5 per hour for this work.
