Show Legion Names Officers The American Legion and Auxiliary sponsored a pot luck supper at the Post Home, last Thursday evening with thirty-five thirty-five members and special guests present. SUPPER was served in the basement recreation room, with Chaplain Robert Turner giving the invocation and blessing of the food. Following supper the group meet in the upstairs assembly room with Commander Clarence Tornow conducting the regular ritual of prayer, flag salute, reading of the preamble was observed. SPECIAL guests were introduced in-troduced Lily Husbands, department of Utah; Maxine Bhisop, president, department; depart-ment; Mary McKenzie, district dis-trict two president, secretary; and Pauline Douglas treasurer of district II and Frank Bishop husband of the state treasurer. Greetings from the guests were given and each presented present-ed a gift from the local unit. LEGION OFFICERS for the ensuring year were introduced. in-troduced. They are: Walt Willey, cannander; Clarence Tornow, 1st vice commander; Dale Olsen, 2nd vice president; Wendell Illi, adjutant; adju-tant; Lynn Cullimore, finance officer; Alvin Moss, historian; his-torian; Robert Turner, chaplain and Merlin Nelson, Sgt. at arms. Boy staters were announced by Mr. Tornow. NEW OFFICERS of the auxiliary were installed by Mary Mc Kenzie, district II president. Those presented to the group were, Dorothy Willey, president; Lois Picket, 1st vice president; Glade Mill Ward, 2nd vice president; Marjorie Tornow, treasurer; Norene Hatch, secretary; Peggy Illi, historian; Virginia Piepgrass, Sgt. at arms. MYRA FISHER gave the out going officers a vote of thanks. The gavel was turned to the new president, Mrs. Willey. Judy Gor retiring president was thanked for her good work done. Plans were made for the annual an-nual poppy sale on May 17. . The District II meeting was ' announced to be held May 9 at Pioneer Post No. 66 Ogden! THE GOLD Star Mother's luncheon was announced to be held Saturday at the Post Home. Over forty-five mothers will be honored. Junior girls and girl staters will assist auxiliary members who will sell poppies on Poppy Day. THE MONEY earned at the bingo parties will be used to send two girls to girl state, blm |
