Show Aid To Step Selling The American Cancer Society wants to reduce your tar and nicotine intake by 100 percent. How? Through a Smoke Stopper's Clinic which starts Sept. 8 at the Utah Division Office, 610 East South Temple. MANY PEOPLE have succeeded suc-ceeded in giving up smoking through these on-going clinics. They offer professional profes-sional help through doctors who serve as guest speakers (ex-smokers themselves), through films, literature and group discussions. Perhaps the biggest dose of help comes from the other people enrolled in the clinic who offer mutual support and' understanding to fellow addicts. ad-dicts. BILL THOMAS, a clinic alum, is the enthusiastic leader of the group which will meet Monday and Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. The clinics meet for four weeks, making a total of eight sessions. Call the Utah Division Office, Of-fice, 322-0431, to register. The cost is $5. That's roughly the price of 10 packs of cigarettes. The savings in money and health just might be incalculable. |
