Show West Bountiful Mary Harper's daughter Sharron and husband have moved into the apartment vacated by the Allen Brad-burys, Brad-burys, when they moved into the former Pvmm home. They will live there for some two months. Bertha Page has been hospitalized hos-pitalized and has been trying to recuperate sufficiently to return home. Leo still works a bit in his garden and loves to sit out in the backyard. The Rex Maughans took another vacation to Lava, to the Craters of the Moon, and to Bear Lake. They took Mindy Salmon with them. Wade Davis took over Terry's Deseret News Route and news was made again. He was bitten rather badly by a dog and rushed to the hospital. hospi-tal. He was up and around on Sunday. Marni and Joel Smith and boys visited with the Elsbys Sunday. Celia Belcher's sister, Tanet Halford, was her guest. Hei mother and father, Mr. and Mis. Hal Eldredge, came up for a few days to visit. Chad Salmon, son of the Dean Salmons can be justly proud. He will be a member of the Viewmont Specialty Football team for the new year. Todd Mitchell, son of the Wayne Mitchells, is a member of the varsity and Val George on another team. Primary begins next week in all three wards. In the West Bountiful Ward it will be held on Wednesday, in the Second Ward Tuesday, Sept. 2, and in the Third Ward, on Wednesdays. Wednes-days. Stake Primary Preparation Meeting was held Thursday. A special skit was presented under the direction of Jean Curtis, counselor in the presidency. The Stake Fathers and Sons Outing is set for Sept. 5 and 6 at Zarahemla Park. Details will be told later. The Young Adult overnight semi-formal dinner-dance will be held Friday and Sa-turday, Sa-turday, Aug. 29 and 30. They are leaving the 12th and 22nd Ward at 7 p.m. for Meadow Creek Inn in Fairview. There will be live music. The Young Adult Grafiti Stomp will be held Thursday, Aug. 28, at 7:30 p.m. at the 12th and 22nd Ward. Rosemary Musig was chosen primary chorister for the Second Ward. Mike Maughan, Stacey Monson, and Craig Salmon, were chosen counselors and secretary, secre-tary, respectively, of the priest quorum. The Young Ladies of the Second Ward are well organized or-ganized and on their way to a big year. The Beehives will be led by Carla Monson, president; Pam Dees, first counselor; Kathy Mann, second counselor. DeLynn Kilpack, secretary; Mia Maids, Heidi Salmon, president; Debbie Dautel, first counselor; Joan Paget, second counselor; and Clare Samuelson, secretary; Laurels, Cheryl Bangerter, president; Dana Dautel, first counselor; Kathy Eggett, second counselor; Danna Mitchell, secretary. Elders Duane Baird and Joseph Price, missionaries of the Utah, Salt Lake City Mission, Mis-sion, gave inspirational sermons ser-mons on missionary work in the Second Ward Sacrament Meeting Sunday afternoon. Back to vacations, the Larry Becketss enjoyed a visit to Blackfoot Reservoir. Arvilla Henrie and Columbia Colum-bia Argyle make the time go by in a rewarding manner by doing oil painting. They entered en-tered their art work in the Davis County Fair. Arvilla won a blue ribbon. Agness B. Mangus was awarded a first place and two second places for her Navaho-weave polyester rugs. And the 4-H Clubs were well represented in cooking and sewing arts. Warren King won a blue ribbon on his pants and shirt. Laura King fashioned a suit, which merited another red ribbon. These young people were led by Edna May King. Sharon Dennise's young club members also won laurels. Shelly Pierce received a red ribbon for a skirt; Kristy Blackburn, a red ribbon for her pants; Tracy Southwick, a red ribbon for her culottes; Michelle Dennis a red ribbon for her pants. Sandi Vance's charges excelled ex-celled in baking: Lisa King, a blue ribbon, for her chocolate chip cookies; Chandra Savis, a blue ribbon, for her magic cookies; Heidi Davis, a red ribbon, for her peanut butter cookies, and Mindy Salmon, a red ribbon for her chocolate chip cookies. Of course, the greatest prize of all for the 4-H'ers was the fact that Mr. and Mrs. Ray King got their baby boy, who came to join three sisters and one brother. |
