Show Hill AFB Pays For Saving Suggestions Brian C. Phillips of Morgan was the top suggester at Hill AFB during July when he received $1,350 for saving the Air Force $245,512. MR. PHILLIPS, a landing gear repairer, devised a method of reducing corrosion on F-4 aircraft axles. Melvin R. Walker of Ogden received $1,295 for a new procedure for weights and balances for C-130 aircraft. The inventory management specialist saved the Air Force $245,512. EARNING $840 for a new tool to bleed aircraft brakes was Alvin Y. Nance, a supervisory super-visory quality assurance specialist. The Syracuse resident saved $27,201. Bountiful resident Ernest G. McCombie earned $825; he devised a better method of rigging outer wing slats on F-4 aircraft. Mr. McCombie. an aircraft mechanic, saved $24,232.
