Show West Bountiful By ALICE MITCHELL 295-1156 School opened this week and reactions were varied. Some mothers were happy to have youngsters under the tutelage of others. Some mothers were saddened in having to bid goodbye to kindergarteners, kin-dergarteners, and other children with special problems. Some young people welcomed wel-comed the chance for further learning. Others sadly closed the door to further vacation fun. Debbie Hayes headed for BYU, after having been at summer camp in Durango, Colo. Her mom, Charlottee Hayes is busy getting acquainted with the many duties of a Relief Society President in the Third Ward. She was given the position to take the place of former President Janet Wellington. Her counselors are Vickie Howard, second counselor, and Vera Olsen, first counselor. coun-selor. Kay Gibson will serve as secretary. Monte Widdison left town to attend Ricks College, where he is looking forward to a great year in basketball. Dannette Schulthies rode up ' with him and will continue her educational climb, at the same university. Kyle Widdison spoke his farewells at Sacrament meeting meet-ing at the West Bountiful Ward Sunday evening. Many friends and relatives came back to town to listen to him and to enjoy his words. Kris and Kathy Widdison and family were there from Yorba Linda, Calif. Jan and Bob Chambers joined the group, from Beaver. Tom and Maurine Mower were there from Willard; Bart and Jean Bethers, from North Ogden; and Bruce and Joan Ashby, from Bountiful. "Aunt" Kate Anderson was feeling well enough to come out to church, too. Dee and Janice Bangerter have been the guests of the Omer Bangerters. They came from Diamond Bar, Calif. They also visited with the Ron Bangerters. Arlene and Chad Kirkham, of Buena Park, Calif., and family were the guests of mother, LaRue P. and Harold Hugoe. Pearl Spencer came back to stay with the Gerald Stouts. Her brother Alfonso has also stayed with the Stouts while his foster parents completed their vacation. The Indian students are from Tohatchi, N.M. Joseph and David Kirton have had a ball staying with the Jerry Kilpacks. Joel and Jeff think it's great to have more boys in the family. Kathy Monson has had her world brightened up with a visit to San Jose, Calif, to visit with old friends. Then her friend Claudia Daw, of San Jose paid her and the Mon-snns Mon-snns a return visit. |
