Show State Health Board Takes Action Dispensers of Soft Drinks Must Take Care to Sterilize Glasses. More stringent regulations pertaining per-taining to the dispensing of soft drinks by soda fountains, root beer stands and other establishments serv ing beverages have been adopted by the stale board of health, according to a communication received by tho city council from T. B. Beatty, state health commissioner. It is pointed out by Dr. Beatty that unsterilized drinking glasses or cups are a common source of tho spread of trench mouth, which Is very prevalent, diphtheria and the other communicable diseases. The infectious organisms are often found in the secretions of the month and are deposited In the act of drinking, on the rim of the cup. The following new rules and regulations reg-ulations go into effect July 1: 1. Receptacles must be sterilized before ;i h individual service by live steam, or. 2. Completely Immersed In actually ac-tually boiling water not less than three minutes, or in 3. Individual paper receptacles used for one service only. The saiu receptacles shall be destroyed Immediately Im-mediately after being used to service, a customer. |
