Show Sparks-Halliday Wedding Lovely Affair Four hundred relatives and friends from American Fork, Provo and surrounding Utah county cities attended at-tended the wedding reception in Pro- vo last Wednesday evening given by Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Sparks at the Bonneville ward amusement hall in compliment to their daughter, Mar. jorie and Marion Halliday, formerly of this city, who were united in marriage mar-riage earlier in the day in the Salt Lake temple. The affair proved to be very lovely and one of the smartest receptions of the autumn social season. The bridal brid-al party received the guests in the alcove at the east side of the reception recep-tion hall- The fireplace was banked with ferns and palms, while baskets of gladiolas were artistically arranged arrang-ed about the nook. White princess candles in three gold candle holders were placed on the mantel and table, lending a charming effect. Attending the bride were her sister, Mrs. Chris Scott of this city, matron of honor; her cousin, Miss Joy Jensen of Salt Lake, her sister-in-law, Mrs. Sherman Sparks of Provo Pro-vo and her sister, Miss Bessie Sparks of Salt Lake, bridesmaids. Eugene Halliday of Ogden, brother of the groom, was best man. The bride wore an elegant gown of white satin and old lace, and her long white tulle veil was heM in place bv a band of silver leaves and orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white rose buds, lily of the valley and sweet peas, tieU with white maline- Mrs. Scott was lovely in cameo pink satin, Miss Jensen's frock was of Byrd blue chiffon, Mrs. Spares was a dainty gown of golden capu-cine capu-cine georgette, and Miss Spark's was of chartreuse green satin. They all carried a bouquet of Ophelia rose, buds and pink and orchid sweet peas. During the early part of the evening, even-ing, musical selections were rendered render-ed by the string trio, consisting of Miss Marion Gilchrist-Madsen, Miss Helen Brimhall and Miss Beth Man-gum. Man-gum. Dancing was enjoyed later the music being furnished by the Collegians. Mr. and Mrs. Halliday will restde in Provo. |
