Show Supreme Court Date Set in Elwell Case Supreme Court trial John Elwell versus Richard Good-worth Good-worth will take place April 1 6th at 9:00am. according to deputy clerk Stephanie Hall. The case involving the former principal of Marsac Elementary Element-ary School and the Park City School District superintendent will once again bring to light the issues of the highly controversial case. In a letter dated March 7, 1 977 Mr. Elwell was advised that his contract "would not be re-newed for the following year. 1977-78. In the letter the superintendent listed his reasons rea-sons as follows: 1. -When requested to work with the Superintendent in an attempt to reconstruct short comings you were asked no to make public notice of the . reconstruction recon-struction work. You violated this request arid evidenced a sense of rebellion against the administration. 2. You have willfully failed and refused to follow the policies of the district Board of Education, as one example: a. You publicly fought the Middle School concept after it had been adopteaas the policy of the ii Board of Education. 3. You have willfully refused to comply with the Superintendent Superinten-dent in matters pertaining to school administration. 4. You have admitted that you have not supported the Board of Education it it's policies. 5. , You have authorized programs : that were in opposition to the directives and programs set forth by the Superintendent. 6. You have failed and refused to work with . the Superintendent Superinten-dent in attempting to overcome over-come the educational short comings, as set forth in the Superintendent letter you of 31 . January, 1977. Your evaluation therein has not been changed. All of the adverse evaluations as forth in that letter remain unresolved and are reasons for not tendering a contract for the coming year." Together the six reasons added up to insubordination. Katheryn Collard attorney for John Elwell will proceed with I the case that the school board denied Elwell due process of law as well as failing to meet constitutional standards up and to the time he was terminated on June 3. 1977. .
