Show ow mm golf course pud nodded The Park City Planning Commission unanimously agreed last week to zone a seven-acre parcel of land located between Park Avenue Condominiums and the municipal golf course, so as to allow for the, ; construction of a 300-ropm. j Planned Unit Development hotel. , The action was taken in, order to comply with conditions of a recently. received Bureau of Outdoor Reclamation grant to be used by the City for purchasing the golf course. Jhe City already received $250,000 in grant monies this year,', with that -same amount of matching funds expected to be received from BOR next year. The City needs $1 million to buy the golf course. "We are concepturally approving a 300-room hotel on this site for purchasing the golf course," City Couricifrnan Bob Wells explained at last Wednesday night's meeting. '. The property is zoned Residential Development (RD), and Planned Unit Developments are provided for as a special exception in this particular zone, according to city ordinances. Mr. Wells explained that a failure to properly zone the site to allow for the construction of the hoteljyould' result in a fault in the agreement between BOR and the City. condos get green light The Park City Planning Commission;; also approved a conditional use permit for the Calhoun Street Condominiums, proposed by developer Roy Reynolds and located at. 13th Street and Woodside Avenue in the RC Zone. v . ' title problem solved A conditional use permit was granted to Associated Title, a professional office at 1161 Park Avenue,' by the Planning Commisssion last week. The permit was given oh the condition that proper curb and gutter be installed and landscaping be done within 90 days. 1 ' condo plans revised : ' Plans for Wjldwood Condominiums, 28-hotel 1 apartments which were approved by the Commission in November and proposed to be located at 14th Street and Woodside. Avenue, ' . were reviewed again last week by the Commission, whose members agreed that the new changes' were not acceptable. "The second plan is not nearly as good as the first one," said Planning Director Bill Ligety. Commission member Mike Vance said the developers are proposing to completely re-design the entire building. The building was originally designed to have brick and cedar front; however, the new changes include a flush stucco. It was also pointed out that the heighth of the building exceeds Code requirements. ; ''They're wasting their time coming back with less than the riginal (plans)" said Commission Chairman Burnis Watts. |
