Show . Only Alternative - This Thursday evening, representatives of the Park City Library Board plan to ask City Councilmen that the Miners Hospital be designated as the future home of the Public Library. Although the City has committed to renovate the historic . ' structure which was recently moved from its original location ' near the resort to a site within the city par, the structure has so far been appropriated for no specific use. We are reluctant to see the facility moved off Main Street but1 also convinced that Park Citv's residents deserve a greatly expanded and improved facility. We understand the financial impossibility of either building a new library on Main Street or leasing a suitable site withing the area. Therefor we accept the Miners, Hospital as the new home of the Park City Public Library and urge that it be designated by City Councilmen as such. k . . . We feel the Library Board is prudent in their decision as well as far sighted and imaginative in their plans for the future of the facility. We agree completely that the Park Citv Public Library should be developed as a significant community; center dedicated to the expansion of educational awareness Voughout the community. We feel that within the Miners He ital such a center can grow and flourish along with Park City. " . The Miners Hospital is more than an old building, it is a symbol of Park City's past present and future: of its flush times and days of hard ship. Most of all it is a symbol of hard work and community spirit which has made Park City so great. Because of this we feel strongly that the Hospital v should always be accesible to the people of Park City for their advancement and - enjoyment. We are convinced that that purpose would be best served if the Public Library was located within her walls |
