Lamb, superintendent of the Ma-teawan Ma-teawan hospital for the cnmlnal Insane, In-sane, who was one of the principal medical witnesses In some of the Thaw proceedings, was attacked today by John Tohlnian, a professor of languages, lan-guages, who was sent to tho Institution Institu-tion three years ago after having killed a man. Tohlman, who had been a "trusty," Tor a year, suddenly struck Ur. Lamb over the head with a shovel cutting his head and rendering him unconscious. Luckily the blow was glancing and he soon revived. Tohlman then drew a buttonhook, which he had sharpened to a needle's edge, from his pocket, and plunged It Into the side of Ids neck. Inflicting a frightful gash. He tried to stick the buttonhook into his heart, but failed. Several minutes later he was found almost dead from loss of blood. It is believed he will die. |
