Show PROMISE Of LIBERAL GIFT For New Library and Administration Ad-ministration Building of University of Nevada Reno, April 16. Announcement was made today by Dr. J. E. Stubbs, president presi-dent of the faculty of the TJnlvcrsity of Nevada, that his mission to New York city, from which he has Just returned, resulted in the promise by Clarence H. Mackay of a liberal donation for the new library and administration building of the university projected at a cost of $250,000 and tho further tentative promise of $100,000 more from an undisclosed benefactress, who Is described as the daughter of a millionaire mil-lionaire whose iortuno was made in Nevada mines. Clarence H. Mackay of the Postal Cable company, and son of John W. Mackay of the "big four," has already ghen $100,000 to the university and the announcement confirms the report that he intends to make his native state the 'object of regular benefactions. benefac-tions. No conditions are attached to the gift. The identity of the other prospective prospec-tive benefactress' is a matter of secrecy se-crecy and excites great curiosity. On account 6f ill health, Mr. Mackay has deferred his intended visit to Nevada Ne-vada until next October, and he will in the meantime go to Europe for his health. Upon the completion of the new gymnasium, amphitheater and training quarters, he, with his wife, will visit the university in October, and renew acquaintances made in Juno last. Dr. Stubbs also conferred with Dr. H. H.
