It Is stated that 10,000 packages packag-es of flower seeds arc being sent to Utah to be planted In the lawns and flower gardens in tho cities to be visited by tho veterans while In the. btate for the purpose of beautifying tho places they visit. Most of tho Beedb aro done In packages furnished fur-nished by the government, 200 packages pack-ages being made up from seeds In bulk. All tho flowers sent out arc expected ex-pected to bloom In August. The varieties furnished arc candytuft, candy-tuft, snapdragon. poppies. nasturtiums, nastur-tiums, sweet elyslum, asters, pansies, lobelias, and verbenas. In addition to these, the committee purchased and distributed about COO packages of seeds Including sweet pea9, nasturtiums, nastur-tiums, balsams, marigold, candytuft, callipsls, popples, mignonette and tweet elyslum. It Is said that about 30.000 button-hols button-hols bouquets will have to be furnished fur-nished for the veterans in line of march on the day of the parade and In addition large quantities will be required re-quired for showering the-m along the line of march. |
