Show WOMUALK POISOII SALTS The home of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Stono, 1561 Washington avenue, was the sceno of a near tragedy last 'night when Mrs. Stone swallowed a quantity quan-tity of Lj'sol salts, the powdered form of carbolic acid, shortly aftor 0 o'clock. The woman had just kissed her two children, Walter, two years old and Herron, one year old, and ,put them to bed when sho called to her husband, hus-band, who was sitting in the front room, saying, "I want to show you something." A moment later, tho husband heard a scream and runninir into the pantry, whero his wife had gone, found her lying on the floor writhing in agony. At her side was a brokon bottle which had contained Lysol salts and the contents of which Mrs. Stone had swallowed. Mr. Stono called frantically -for assistance and neighbors running Into the house telephoned to Dr Paul Ingebretsen. The physician Immediately went to the home and worked for hours to save the life of the young mother. Mia Stone is tho daughtor of Joseph Her husband is employed at the Southern Pacific shops in Og-den Og-den and both are widely known in Ogden. Last night Mr. Stoue could ascribe no reason for his wife's act. At a late hour this afternoon, Mrs. Stono is still alive. nn |
