Hobson and George Lea-tham Lea-tham went to Salt Lake with Algey Jones of Minneapolis and turned him over to the Salt Lake officers on the . chargo of robbery- Jones was arrested ar-rested at Farmington and was brought to Ogden lor investigation, respecting . a reward offered for a man answering answer-ing Jones' description. After close questioning, and further investigation : tho officers here concluded that Jones '. was not tho man they were looking for, so he was taken to Salt Lake. ! When arrested at Farmington yesterday, yes-terday, Jones was accompanied by . a woman who was also arrested, and taken to Salt Lake. It was claimed '. by the Salt Lake officers that sho and Jonos posed In the capital city as hus- band and wife, and that sho robbed a . man of a diamond pin and ?S5 in money. Officer Hobson states that when the woman's trunk wa3 searched in Salt Lake, the jowelry was not found, but '. that a number of articles of sllver-, sllver-, ware was uncovered, among them be- lng a vase which belonged to tho Hotel Ho-tel Utah. Jonos claimed yesterday . to be entirely innocent of any wrong . doing on tho part of his wife, and . said that he did not know of tho pieces of silverware in her trunk. Ho is a man 6 feet 2 inches tall, but , weighs only 165 pounds. He is of the cowboy type, wearing a black , sweater with a red stripe. His hat is df exceptionally high crown, broad brimmed and white. The high hat ', causes him to look 7 feet tall. |
