He Is going to leave Washington for the Philippines about Sept. 1 and It Is very likely that he will make n sldo trip to Alaska, sailing from Seattlo for Manila after his return. JlaJ. Willis V. Richardson of the quartermaster general's gen-eral's department Is making tho effort to have tho secretary of war make tho Alaska visit. Mr. Taft would like to go very much and It Is merely a question ques-tion of tlrao. When ho has seen Alaska tho secretary of war will have visited every dependency of the United Statss with the exception of Samoa. |
