Show Cope part of Cumorah Pageant V. The epic story of the 1977 version of the Hill Cumorah Pageant is scheduled for its 40th anniversary production on Route 21 South in Palmyra, New York at 9 p.m. nightly during July 22nd through the 30th, except for Sunday and Monday. Sister Marva Cope, 27, a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Laterday Saints, has been selected to participate in this year's performanes, of the Hill Cumorah Pageant. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter W. McDaniels of 99 South 200 East in Cedar City. Sister Cope attended Cedar High School where she was active in drama and pep club. She went on to Southern Utah State College in Cedar City and then to Utah State University in Logan, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science a degree in speech and drama. Sister Cope served in her home ward as a Sunday school teacher, primary teacher, relief society teacher and as the women's sports director prior to accepting her call to serve as a missionary for 18 months. She enjoys poetry, loves to sing and play the guitar and write and compose com-pose her own songs. MARVA COPE Sister Cope comes from a family of six children, with two older sisters and three younger brothers. She commented on her feelings about being on a mission and expressed, "This is indeed the greatest opportunity and blessing of my life. The blessings of serving the Lord are great, I feel it to be an honor and a pleasure." Sister Cope intends to pursue a masters degree in communications upon completion of her mission in five months. |
