Live music with three vocalists, their names were Forrest Hunter, Bert Carpenter and the girl known as the golden voice of the west, the Rythm King Orchestra vocalist Fonda Morrell Beckstead. For all their time, work and sharing their talents with the listening audience of southern Utah Cedar City honors and thanks you. 50 years ago Utah mines produced 41,057,460 tons of coal in the nine year period between July 1, 1917 and June 30, 1926. I The value of this product at $3 per ton amounted to $123,172,761. 25 years ago Parowan Valley had quite a hail and windstorm which hit the area next to the west hills. This wind and hail storm hit 140 acres of grain on the lower part of the Gurr Farm and the crop was a total loss. During a 24 hour period 1.21 in. of rain fell. 10 years ago The largest flood in four decades hit coal creek and spilled into the Cedar Valley following an isolated deluge in the lower regions of Cedar Canyon. It was estimated that 3000 cubic feet of water per second flowed across a measuring device at the old CC Dam near the power plant in the mouth of the Canyon.
